Just thought I’d let you know that a friend of mine who is a friend of Heider Heydrich says that Heider is not at all happy with the re release of his mother’s book, despite participating in it. It seems that the final chapter is very critical of his mother. I have a feeling that the reporter who interviewed him might have left out the fact that she was going to give her own slant on what Lina knew and didn’t know.
Just a tidbit I thought a Heydrich history person might enjoy.
This would appear to be the best of Heydrich’s profile shots.

While I am no law scholar, I am able to look up the definition of intellectual property on the World Intellectual Property Organizations website. It states that “Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the mind: inventions, literary and artistic works, and symbols, names, images, and designs used in commerce. IP is divided into two categories: Industrial property, which includes inventions (patents), trademarks, industrial designs, and geographic indications of source; and Copyright, which ncludes literary and artistic works such as novels, poems and plays, films, musical works, artistic works such as drawings, paintings, photographs and sculptures, and architectural designs. Rights related to copyright include those of performing artists in their performances, producers of phonograms in their recordings, and those of broadcasters in their radio and television programs. “
Yes, photographs are in there. However, upon further investigation, and a reading of their very nice overview on “IP in regular life”, it didn’t say anything a family photo album. I’m pretty sure that the Heydrich family photo album is not protected under IP laws. Even if it was at some point, unless they renewed the copyright, it would have expired by now.
Either way, I am not making a profit off of POTENTIALLY posting these pictures sometime in the abstract future. I am not insulting nor tarnishing the Heydrich family name. I have already posted a number of photos of Reinhard Heydrich that I don’t want to count, I haven’t made a penny off of it, and all I did was share things that already existed. I have already said that I would be more than willing to credit the source material and provide citations, under every picture if necessary! And if Herr Heydrich wants me to take this blog down, and he has a good reason for me to do so, I will be happy to do so.
However, I’d like to point out that we’re arguing about a hypothetical. This HASN’T HAPPENED YET. My original ‘call’ was a call, yes, but it wasn’t a very serious one, nor do I expect anyone to give me these pictures. All this was was a good debate exercise.
I could keep debating with you, but it would grow pointless because I’d just keep repeating myself, and I have an analysis of the film Waltz With Bashir to do. I really hope that you can set aside this hypothetical event that may or may not happen, and that we can continue on our separate ways, peacefully.
Unless, of course, you want to tell me why this bothers you so much. I’m really curious now.
